The primary aim of the center at Bar-Ilan University is to promote and carry out first class academic research in the fields of applied cryptography and cyber security, and to train graduate students to become the next generation of leaders in the field. The center also promotes collaboration with both industry and government on cutting-edge research questions.

The main focus topics of the center are (a) applied cryptography, (b) applications of machine learning, artificial intelligence and natural language processing to cyber security, (c) hardware attacks and defenses, and (d) system and network security.
